The executive producers were Lou Gonda and Jody Patton. Set in an unnamed Latin American country, it is the story of one man's discovery of what actually happened in the political history of his nation as well as his students. It was filmed in Mexico and most of the crew were Mexican.
"Men With Guns" tells the story of a doctor in an unnamed Central American country, who makes a trip into the rain forest to visit the young medical students he trained some years earlier. They were supposed to fan out among the Indian villages, fighting tapeworm and other scourges.
Men with Guns is a grim story about two boys pretending to be men; it's about how you don't cross drug lords or steal from them. It's also about knowing your limitations, and recognizing your weaknesses.
